Jack Straus said ” A chip and a chair”. That can not be more true for Matthew Kuba. Matthew took a few bad beats in Level 1 and was down to 2k in chips. Through the last 6 levels, grinded…and grinded…and grinded to the start of Level 8 and now has over 59k.

The Wallingord, CT player is no stranger to Mohegan Sun or to Deepstacks Poker Tour. He played in last year’s Main Event and finished 11th.

Walking past Grinder’s table…I see that has moved all-in for his last 5.5k only to get 2 callers behind him.

Board runs Ah 5d 7c Qh 4d and Grinder shows Ax Kx and takes it down.

Grinder has a pulse…but for how long until dinner…

45 left in the level.

Grinder fires a 2nd bullet today…..

11.23.13
04:36 pm

A little while ago, Grinder re-enterd and noticed that he had alot of chips (almost 70k). So I decided to watch 1 hand…

Jamie (DSPT/Panama) winner raises pre flop to 1.3k. Shankor Pillai calls, Grinder raises to 6.1k Jamie folds, Shankor calls.

Flop – Ks 8h 9h. Check/Check

Turn – 5h. Shankor bets 7.6k. Grinder took less than 10 seconds to fire enough chips that forced Shankor to be all-in. Shankor thinks for a few and then decides to go all-in. Grinder calls.

Grinder – 9x 5x (Two Pair)

Shankor – Kx 8x (Higher Two Pair)

River – Kh to give Shankor a Full house.

Grinder is now down to 10k.
