We are joining Table 3 for an all-in hand between Matthew Courigaru (Seat 2) versus Kevin Penhall (Seat 5)

With approximately 30,000 chips in the pot, Jennifer turn the river to display the board:

Kevin leads out the hand with a 30,000 bet with Matthew quickly shoving all-in. Kevin takes some time to consider the situation but eventually risks his remaining 70,000.

Matthew shows 7c 6 h revealing his 10 high straight on the turn card. Kevin folds and is out looking frustrated for his efforts.

Top Chip Leaders: Grandieri vs. Reihl

03.01.15
12:38 pm

Unlike last night’s UFC Main Event, today’s battle for $30,658 will last much longer than 14 seconds.

Returning at 12 noon, David Grandieri and Brent Riehl are tied with the top chip counts going into Event 1’s Battle Royale.

David (with 504,500 going into today’s play) is no stranger to top paying positions in New England Poker Tours. With recent paydays in the Card Player Tour, he is also our Spring Showdown 2012 Main Event winner looking to capitalize in Event 1 for the upcoming Main Event next Saturday.

Connecticut Native Brent (with also 504,500 in chips) is also a bit of a celebrity with many wins here in our always popular Wednesday $150 NLH tournament and in the cash room. With the Wednesday tournament consistently bringing in large numbers of entrants, he understands how to outlast the competition.

But they shouldn’t count their chips before they’re stacked, there are many contenders ready to take them down. Here are a list of other big stacks floating under the radar:

Jared Cohen (Spuds Your Way Fame): 216,500

David Anderson (Table 2, Seat 9) : 211,000

Kevin Chang (Table 3, Seat 5) : 226,500

Event 1 is now “In the Money”

03.01.15
12:31 pm

Within 20 minutes of start of play, we are now at 35 players in Event 1 which puts the players into paying position.

We are in Level 17 with 2,000/4,000 blinds 500 antes.

Reporting of action hands on the way!
